If You Think 120/80 Blood Pressure is Normal, Then You are Wrong. This is Not Standard

Many people around the world think that 120 plus 80 is a normal blood pressure, it is standard according to the American Heart Association (AHA). But European heart specialists are offering some different suggestions here. European experts conducted a study and released their findings in 2013.

What is European Said?

The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) issued new guidelines, according to which the general pressure of 140 systolic (the top number in the blood pressure measurement) and the 90 diastolic (lower number). According to the ESC, the new standard for normal blood pressure stands at 140/90.

It does not apply to people with diabetes, in which the limit is more than 130, as in the old population.

What does this mean?

The first thought was that if someone's blood pressure is more than 139, then that person is already in high blood pressure condition and this person needs urgent attention to avoid a heart attack or stroke risk.
